Spent the day at SeaWorld and as you can see our team had a blast!
Community outings is a great opportunity to practice socialization, physical awareness, and promote generalization of skills that are taught during therapy sessions, to real life settings. This public exposure can be especially important as it provides a foundation for increased self-confidence and self-awareness.
This was the perfect place to work on our social skills. Transitioning in a public space, speaking to others with the appropriate tone of voice, staying near a know adult, etc.!
It is a great idea to create a learning activity that incorporates the animals they are going to see in real life. This will allow them to apply the information they have just learned and connect it to the real thing!
And of course, Community Outings are fun!
